Lester L Bollinger
Church Deacon, Area Farmer
Lester L. Bollinger, 92, of Orbisonia, died at 4:20 p.m. Wedesday, May 31, 1995, in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Death was unexpected. Born Oct. 29, 1902, at Shirleysburg, he was a son of the late Dayton O. and Eliza (Watters) Bollinger. He was married to the former Anna G. Ewing on Oct. 11, 1923, at Hagerstown, Md. Mrs. Bollinger died Aug. 22, 1993. Surviving are two children, Lester E Bollinger of Orbisonia and Grace E. Lepperd, Altoona R.D. 1; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Moreland Bollinger, of Mount Union. Two brothers preceded him in death. Mr Bollinger was a member of the Rockhill Church of the Brethren, Rockhill Furnace, where he served as a deacon. He was also a member and past master of Shirleysburg Grange #119 and a member of Pomona, state and national granges. During his life, Mr. Bollinger engaged in farming in Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County, and also worked at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, from which he was retired. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia with the Rev. Horace Derr officiating. Interment will be in Orbisonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today (Friday) from 7-9 p.m., and Saturday, from 9 a.m. until the hour of the services.
