Raymond G. Bollinger, 83, of Fifth Avenue, Burnham, formerly of Mount Union, died at 6:47 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 1993, at his home following an extended illness.

Funeral services were held May 17 at the Sugar Run Church of the Brethren, Mount Union RD. The Rev. John Johnson, the Rev. Robert Chesney, and pastor Reed Gray officiated.

Interment was made in Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg RD 1.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union. A Masonic service was conducted at the funeral home May 16.

He was born Aug. 20, 1909, at Shirleysburg RD, the son of Dayton O. and Elizabeth (Watter) Bollinger. He was united in marriage with the former Jean Galbraith on Feb. 14 1934, in Cumberland, Md. by N.E. Webb.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Rose Marie) Horton, Lewistown RD 2; Mrs. Richard (Jean) Hunter, Montoursville RD 2; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two brothers, Lester L. Bollinger of Orbisonia and Moreland W. Bollinger of Mount Union. One brother Hobart Bollinger, preceded him in death.

Mr. Bollinger was an active member of Sugar Run Church of the Brethren, serving as a lifetime deacon and teaching Sunday School for a number or years. He was a past secretary of the Mount Union Lions Club and a past member of the Mount Union Chamber of Commerce, the former Mount Union Area Development Corporation, and the Huntingdon County Fair Board. He belonged to F&AM Lodge 688 of Mount Union, Jaffa Shrine of Altoona, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and the Harrisburg Consistory. He also belonged to the Shirleysburg Grange.

He retired in 1974 after 26 years as an agent with Nationwide Insurance. Ten years prior to that, he was an agent for Baltimore Life in Huntingdon and Lewistown.
