Moreland W. Bollinger Sr.
Shade Gap native, retired Mount Union contractor
Moreland W. Bollinger Sr., 84, formerly of Mount Union, died Thursday evening, Aug. 15, 1996, at Coventry Manor, Pottstown, where he had been residing. Born Sept. 16, 1911, at Shade Gap, he was a son of the late Dayton and Elizabeth (Watters) Bollinger. He was married to the former Pauline Adams on June 15, 1940. Suriving are his wife, at Coventry Manor, Pottstown, and a son, Moreland W. Bollinger, Jr., of St. Peters (Pa.) The last surviving member of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Hobart Bollinger, Raymond Bollinger and Lester Bollinger. Mr. Bollinger was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Mount Unon. He was also a member of Mount Union Lodge #688, Free and Accepted Masons; Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Jaffa Shrine, Altoona; and the former Mount Union Lodge, International Order of Odd Fellows. A graduate of Orbisonia High School, Class of 1926, Mr. Bollinger had been a self-employed contractor, based in Mount Union, for many years until his retirement. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at the Presbyterian Church of Mount Union, Shirley and Division streets, with the Rev. Gordon Ross officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, Sunday from 7-9 p.m. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
