Death Claims James Gallagher
Body will be taken to Benwood Sunday - Burial in Wheeling Monday.
Mr. James Gallagher, who has been a resident of Fairmont for several years, died Friday morning at his home at 1121 Virginia avenue, South Side, after a long illness. He had been in failing health for three years past. The deceased was aged 55 years.
He was formerly a glass worker and was employed at a local plant until about a year ago. On account of his failing health he was compelled to give up his work and he opened a grocery store, corner of Twelfth street and Virginia avenue, which he had since conducted.
Mr. Gallagher and family moved here from Indiana six years ago.
The deceased leaves his wife and several children, including Mrs. James Lewis of Indiana; Miss Cora Gallagher, Mrs. Oliver Jackson, Mrs. Walter Bunner, James Jr., William Edward, all of this city.
The body will be taken to Benwood Sunday morning to the home of Herman Specht, brother-in-law of the deceased. The funeral will be held Monday morning from the Catholic church at Benwood and interment will be made in Mt. Calvary cemetery. Undertaker R.C. Jones is in charge.
