Sarah Alcock Reynolds, 88, of 1107 Longwood Avenue, Bedford, died Tuesday, December 8, 1998 at Carilion Bedford Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 13, 1910 in Forest, the daughter of the late Elijah Fletcher Alcock and Adelia Ann Leftwich Alcock. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Glass Reynolds.

She is survived by her daughter, Loretta R. Wood of Seneca, S.C.; two sisters, Reva Williams of Herndon and Eloise Beckstrom of Evington; two grandchildren, Timothy E. Channel of Washington, PA and Robyn C. Channel of Bedford and a great-granddaughter, Madison D. Channel of Washington, PA.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, December 11, 1998 in Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. D. Glen Langston officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. today at Carder-Tharp Funeral home.

The family suggests those wishing to make memorials consider either Main Street United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Bedford Life Saving Crew.
