Paul A. Blackstone, 85, Superior, died at his home in Superior
Saturday.
He was born May 21, 1912, near Superior, in Jewell County.
The son of John and Bertha(Mellott) Blackstone.
He was raised on the family farm and attended the Monarch
Rural School, also known as the Harscrabble School. He was
married May 22,1954, to Edla Hedlund at the Olive Hill Church.
Together they lived on a farm in Jewell County until retiring and moving into Superior in 1975. In addition to farming he was a 30-year employee of the Ideal Cement Co. He also trained horses.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1984, five
brothers, Howard, Ted, Harry, Cecil and James.
Survivors include four nephews, two nieces, two sisters-in-law, and a special friend, Alice Hanson, Mankato.
Services were at Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel, Superior,
(Wednesday), yesterday with the Rev. Patterson Culligan officiating.
Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
