Services were Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. from Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel, Superior, with the Rev. Ken Fairbrother officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Blackstone was born in Jewell County, Aug. 15, 1910, the fourth of six sons born to John Henry and Bertha Ann Mellott Blackstone. He was raised on the family farm and attended Monarch Rural School.
He was united in marriage to Kathaleen Hurley, May 5, 1944, in the Church of the United Brethran, Republic. He was a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; Howard, Ted and Harry Blackstone.
He is survived by his wife Kathaleen, two brothers; Paul, Superior, Jim, Brawley, Calif.; nieces and nephews.
