Verna A. Tesch, 87, formally of 904 Dahlia Lane, Wausau, died Saturday, March 25, 1995, in Wausau.

She was born July 16, 1907 in the town of Stettin, the daughter of the late William and Antonia (Wilde) Ristow. She married Emil Tesch on March 13, 1926, in Wausau. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1969.

Verna was a homemaker and farmer. She enjoyed gardening, baking and was a member of the Rib Mountain Homemakers club.

Survivors include two sons, Alvin (Betty) Tesch, Wausau and Kenneth (Linda) Tesch, The Dalles, Ore. ; five daughters, Rose (Arnold) Radke, Marathon, Dorothy (Tony) Ivaska, Eagle River, Georgiana (Jake) Mohr, Balsam Lake, Jean (Merlin) Stahel, Marathon, and Diane (John) Damitz, Rib Mountain; one brother, William Ristow, Merrill; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Elmer and Delbert.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, March 29, 1995 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Wausau. The Rev. David Blackmer will officiate. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation was from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau and again from 10 a.m. today until the time of services at the church. Memorials to the church or flowers will be appreciated.
