Merrill resident William H. "Bill" Ristow, 85, of 1801 E. Main St., died Friday, August 21, 1998, at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.
Bill was the son of William and Antonia Wilde Ristow, he and Irene Hanke were married September 23, 1941, in the Town of Stettin.
A former welder at Wausau Iron Works, Bill later worked construction in Alaska from 1943-1945. He and his wife returned to the Merrill area where they operated a farm in the town of Maine for 31 years.
Bill is survived by his wife, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by four brothers, five sisters and three half-brothers.
The funeral was held Monday, August 31, 1998, at St. Stephen's United Church of Christ. Rev. Scott Callahan officiated. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. The arrangements were handled by Taylor-Mann-Stein Funeral home, Merrill.
