Mary is the daughter of Jeremiah and Mary (Carragan) Doolin, one of 11 children. She was Baptized Oct. 17, 1869 at Our Saviour Catholic Church in Jacksonville, Illinois. Mary married Irving Porter Roberts, a railroad conductor, and moved as the railroad progressed West, to Salt Lake City, Utah. Together they had 3 sons and 2 daughters. After retirement they bought a ranch in Declo, Idaho, then later, a ranch in Rupert, Idaho. After Irving's death Mary moved back to Jacksonville, Illinois to live in the old family home with her sister Kate, where she died. Her burial was in Rupert, Idaho.
