Jeremiah (Cap) is the son of Irving Porter and Mary Elizabeth (Doolin) Roberts. He was born in Jacksonville, Illinois. He served in WW1 in France, Sgt. Co. I. 9th infantry and was cited for valor at Battle of Soissons, France by Gen. John Pershing. He was presented with the Silver Star posthumously in 2015. He married Joan Wichman in 1934 in Evanston, Wyoming and together they were parents of 7 children. He was a fabulous dancer and member of the Eagles in Ogden. In civilian life he worked at Ogden Arsenal, then Hill Air Force Base, until retirement.
