Winifred "Winnie" is the daughter of Jeremiah and Mary Carragan Doolin. She was born in Jacksonville, Illinois on the family farm, the youngest of seven children. She went to Kansas City, Missouri with her sister "Nellie" (Ellen Agnes) about 1900 and worked as a servant/domestic and at the Savoy hotel until she met and married Ernest J. Lamphere in 1912 at age 32. They lived in Kansas City, Kansas until moving to Cole, Missosuri in 1930 then a later and final move to Sedalia, missouri. They had no children. Winnie was the last surving Dooin child, at age 80.

She married Ernest J. Lamphere on May 14, 1912 at St. Mary's Church in Kansas City.
