Louisa M. (Pinkerton) Sanders was the daughter of James Wyrick Pinkerton (1815-1869) who was born in Somerset County, Pennsylvania and died in Adair County, Missouri; and Eva Ann Garber (1830-1914) who was born in Coshocton County, Ohio and died in Adair County, Missouri.

Louisa was the oldest of 7 known children. Her siblings were:

George Washington Pinkerton 1858 – 1941
Sarah Jane Pinkerton 1861 – 1932

On June 30, 1871, Louisa married James H. Sanders in Putnam County, Missouri. They had 6 known children:

Louisa died in 1912, Missouri Death Certificate 31866. Her husband died in 1919. Both are buried in Queen City Cemetery.
