George W. Pinkerton was the son of James Wyrick Pinkerton (1815-1869) who was born in Pennsylvania, and Eva Ann (Garber) Pinkerton (1830-1914) who was born in Ohio.

His known siblings were:

Louisa (Pinkerton) Sanders 1850-1912
Mary Ann "Mollie" (Pinkerton) Erskine 1854-1898
Rebecca (Pinkerton) Filkins 1856-1889
Sarah Jane (Pinkerton) Bennett 1861-1932
James Henry Pinkerton 1867-1904
Henrietta "Etta" (Pinkerton) Payton 1870-1925

George's parents came from Ohio to Adair County, Missouri, between 1850 and 1854, a few years before he was born.

On April 6, 1881, George married Amanda Frances "Fannie" Conley, his 1st cousin. Fannie was the daughter of Rebecca (Garber) Conley, a sister of Eva Ann (Garber) Pinkerton, the mother of George.

They had three known children:

Maud C. (Pinkerton) Stevens 1881-
Odessa Blanche (Pinkerton) Funk 1884-1973
Clyde B. Pinkerton 1887-

The Pinkertons farmed mostly in Schuyler County, Missouri.

Fannie died in 1918 and records indicate that George may have married two more times. A Mr. G. W. Pinkerton married Emma Johnson in 1920, and Eva M. Musie in 1930. This writer is not sure if these are his marriages or not. However, his death certificate indicates he was divorced at the time of his death.

George Pinkerton died of pneumonia in 1941 and is buried beside his wife Fannie in Queen City Cemetery.

Missouri Death Certificate 20962.
