Fred Marple Obituary
Mr. Fred Marple, 80, of Campbellsville, Route 4, son of the late Mr. Dave Marple and Mrs. Nancy Lyon Marple, was born in Taylor County, April 4, 1898. He died at 11:45 a.m., Monday, March 12, 1979, at the Taylor County Hospital where he had been a patient for the past four days.
He had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church. Mr. Marple was a retired carpenter.
He united in marriage to Miss Callie Fisher, April 17, 1924. She preceded him in death March 17, 1977.
To this union four daughters and two sons were born. Mr. Clifford Marple preceded his father in death in 1947 and Anna Evelyn Marple died in infancy. Surviving are Mr. James H. Marple of Campbellsville, Mrs. H. Hazel Wise of Campbellsville, Route 1, Miss Frances Mae Marple of Campbellsville, Route 4, and Mrs. Josephine Kennedy of Lexington.
Besides his children, he is survived by three grandsons: Mr. Wallace Humphress and Mr. Steven Wise, both of Campbellsville, and Mr. Howard Humphress of Louisville; four great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister: Mr. George Marple and Mr. Charles Marple, both of Campbellsville, and Mrs. Myrtle Benningfield of Louisville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Chapel by Dr. J. Chester Badgett and Rev. Harden Hosey. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roger Bright, Walter Webb, Bobby Warren, Bill Cozine, Clifford Berry, and George Sanders.
