Lyons "Linus" Marple Obituary
Funeral services for Linus Marple were held on Wednesday, February 9th, in the Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. J. Chester Badgett in charge of the services.
Mr. Marple died in Danville on Monday, February 7, 1966, at 2 p.m. He was born in Taylor County, March 14, 1905, son of Dave Marple and Nancy Jane Marple. On April 12, 1926, he was married to Edith Jewell Marples and they were the parents of five children.
Surviving besides his wife and mother are children: Glenus Marple, Columbia, William Buckner Marple, Green County, J.T. Marple, Louisville, Kenneth Marple, Key West, Florida, and Linda Lou Marple of Campbellsville.
He also leaves ten grandchildren; three brothers: George Marple, Fred Marple and Charles Marple, all of Campbellsville, and one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Benningfield of Louisville.
Mr. Marple was employed many years by the old Campbellsville Lumber Company, and had made his home on South Court Street, Campbellsville. Pallbearers were Alfred Hunt, Roy Curry, Bobby Powell, Delbert Ballard, Joe Wagner, and Earl Hash. Burial was in the Brookside Cemetery. ~Central Kentucky News, Wednesday, February 16, 1966
