Gladys, the daughter of Hamilton Foster and Eula Clara Jordan, was born on a farm north of Sidney near Anderson, Iowa. She lived most of her life in Fremont, Page and Montgomery counties. At the time of her death her home was in Farragut.

Gladys lived in Riverton prior to her marriage to John Ronald Rea on 6 Aug 1932. Gladys and John had two children: John and Clara (died at birth).

Gladys died in 1988 at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 74 years.

John died in 1994 while living in Red Oak, Iowa, at the age of 85 years.
