Oscar B. Milton, 44, of Walker was shot and killed sometime Wednesday night when the shotgun he was carrying accidentally discharged as he was returning home from a hunting trip.

An employe of the Esso Standard Oil Co. for the past seven years, Milton was a life-long resident of Walker. He was the father of seven children.

Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock this morning at the Walker Methodist church. Burial will be in the Stafford cemetery.

Milton is survived by his wife Beatrice; one son, George Milton of Walker; six daughters, Jean, Marie, Carol, Billie Jo, Linda and Carolyn, all of Walker; his father, Elliott Milton; four brothers, Harry and Morris, of Walker, Wilson of Baton Rouge, and Mike, now stationed in North Carolina; eight sisters, Mrs. George Watson, Mrs. Ed Bendily, Mrs. R. J. Bendily, Mrs. S. Collins, Mrs. N. C. Bendily and Miss Carline [sic Carlene] Milton, all of Walker, and Mrs. Gordon Hatchell and Mrs. Herman Carpenter, of Denham Springs; one step-brother, Joseph Stephens of Marrero, and two step-sisters, Mrs. Fletcher Huntl[e]y of Grand Isle and Mrs. John Villar of Gonzales.

The Adams funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
