FLORA D. COOPER

Funeral services for Flora D. Cooper, 84, were held from the Wolfe Funeral Home on Monday, June 15, at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Alvin Sigafus officiating. the soloist, Mrs. Carolyn Harris, was accompanied by Mrs. Mabel Dunn at the organ as she rendered "Beyond the Sunset" and "In the Garden." Flowerbearers were Mrs. Raymond Crouse and Mrs. Leonard Bauer. Casketbearers were Earl Scott, Glen Jackson, John Jackson, Earl James, Leonard Bauer and Raymond Crouse. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery, Red Oak.

Flora D. Goltry, daughter of Emeline and Jacob Goltry, was born in Lucas county, Iowa, on December 12, 1874, and passed away at the home of her son Jerald northeast of Villisca on June 11, 1959, at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 11 days.

On the 12th of February, 1896, she was united in marriage to Henry S. Cooper who preceeded her in death on January 27, 1948. To this union 10 children were born. Mrs. Faye Wallace of Bussey, Ia., Mrs. Banner Shay of Corning, Mrs. Etha Smith of Cheyenne, Wyo., Mrs. Berteene Mutchler of Omaha. Earl and Mrs. Gertrude Walford of Sacramento, Calif., Mrs. Dorothy Dorran of Denver, Colo., and Jerald of Villisca. Two daughters, Hazel and Virginia preceded her in death. Besides her children she leaves one brother, Albert Goltry of Russell, Iowa. 26 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Having spent the early part of her life in Lucas county, she with the family in 1910 moved to the Red Oak vicinity where she lived till 1953, when she came to make her home near her son.

She was a kind, loving mother and the interest in her children and home always came first.
