BLACKFOOT, ID - Theo D. Andersen, 68, co-owner of Rockford Service and Rockford, Idaho resident died Thursday, April 25, 1996 at the Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot, Idaho, following an illness.

He was born April 28,7927 in Bear River City, Utah the son of Emil L. and Grace Cleopha Andreason Andersen.

He lived his early years in Box Elder County, Evans, Utah, and graduated from Bear River High School. He served a mission for the LDS Church in Denmark for 33 months.

He married Elaine Mae John on February 16,1951 in the Logan LDS Temple. After their marriage, they lived for a short time in Tremonton, Utah and Riverton, Wyoming. They came to Blackfoot,Idaho in 1959.

He served in the navy at the end of World War II. He was a member of the LDS Church and held various callings including a temple ordinance worker in the Idaho Falls Temple for
14 years.

Theo worked for two years at the Rockford Mercantile after which he started running the Rockford Service Center which he subsequently bought.

He loved to play Santa and Santa's helper to many neighborhood and community families. He enjoyed serving others and spending quality time with his family. He enjoyed caring for his flower beds, hunting and snowmobiling in his spare time.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine, of Rockford, Idaho, two sons, Darvel and (Marilyn) Andensen of Rockford, Idaho, DeWayne J. and (Rebecca) Andersen of Cedar Hills, Utah, three daughters, Melody Andersen of Blackfoot Idaho, Mrs. Ken (DiAnn) Bunderson of Tremonton, Utah and Janet Garcia of Denver, Colorado, two brothers, Verl and (Nona) Andersen of California, Lynn and (Linda) Andersen of Orem, Utah, four sisters, Mrs. Neil (Florence) Hall of St. George, Utah, Mrs. Gordon (Phyllis) Holmgren of Bear River City, Utah, Mrs. Alan (Lillian) Jensen of Ogden, Utah, Mrs. Newell (Erma) Poulson of San Jose, California, and 17 grandchildren, including a grandson, Todd Andersen, who is serving a mission in London, England.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, and one grandson.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 29, 1996, at the Thomas LDS church with Bishop Michael VanOrden of the Thomas 3rd Ward conducting.

The family met with friends on Sunday evening at the Hill, Hawker & Sandberg Funeral Home and again on Monday at the church for an hour prior to services.

lnterment was in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery with military honors presented by the American Legion, Stewart Hoover Post #23.
