Mrs. Elzie M. Adams, 69, died at Dunklin County Memorial Hospital in Kennett Sunday, December 15 and funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the H.S. Smith Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Guy Magee and Rev. Norman Jameson officiated and burial was in Maple cemetery.
Mrs. Adams was born in Obion, Tenn., on November 23, 1888, the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Ellen Hopper. She came to Pemiscot county with her parents when she was a child and attended the schools at Hayti.
On July 10, 1906, at Gayoso, she was married to Charles H. Adams and the family have made their home in Caruthersville for the past 30 years. She was a member of the Baptist church.
She leaves her husband of this city; three sons, Louis and Willard Adams of Caruthersville and J.W. Adams of Flint, Mich.; four daughters, Mrs. Wilson Fox and Miss Ruby Adams, Caruthersville, Mrs. Howard Clutts, Poplar Bluff and Mrs. Bill Pride, Walnut Ridge, Ark.; also ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
