Funeral services for Charles Henry Adams, 86, were held April 27th in the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. W.H. Griffin officiating. Burial was in Maple Cemetery with the H.S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Adams was born August 4, 1887 in Gayoso, Mo., the late son of John and Ellen Adams, and attended schools in Missouri.
On July 10, 1906 in Gayoso, Mo, he was united in marriage to Miss Elzie M. Hopper, and the family moved from Hayti, to Caruthersville in 1927. Mr. Adams was an employee of the Frisco Railroad until retiring in 1942 and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Louis Adams, Caruthersville, J.W. Adams, Flint, Mich, Willard Adams of Bernie, Mo., Four daughters, Mrs. Lucille Fox and Miss Ruby Adams of Caruthersville; Mrs. Howard Clutts of McClure, Ill. and Mrs. Bill Pride of Kennett. Twelve grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Perry Going, Robert Tillman, Verlon Stubbs, Billy Simmons, Harold Hinchey, Earsey Vickers Jr.
