Burnside, Mechanic, Dies At 46
BURGIN (Spl.)-Services for Clyde Augustus Burnside, 46, of Burgin, who was found dead Monday on his farm, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home, Danville.
Garrard County Coroner Ralph Simpson said that Burnside had been dead since Saturday, apparently of a heart attack.
Burnside was manager of the body shop at Dollins-Herndon Ford in Stanford and had been with Danville Motors Inc. for 25 years. He was a member of the Burgin Fire Department. The Rev. Forrest Ford, minister of the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, will conduct the funeral with burial in Bellevue Cemetery, Danville.
Friends may call at the funeral home. Mr. Burnside was born Nov. 3, 1928 in Garrard County and lived in this area most of his life. He was the son of the late Rev. Charles and Isabell Lane
Burnside He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He belonged to the Junction City Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Minnie Margaret Brown Burnside; five brothers, J.R. Burnside of Lancaster, Ralph of Stanford, Earl of Union, Mo., Charles E. of Lexington and William J. Burnside of Lindsay, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. George Grider of Junction City and Mrs. Jim Highland of Shelbyville.
Members of the Burgin Fire Department will be honorary pallbearers.
Active pallbearers will be Billy Dollins, Ansel Herndon, Kenneth Hogue, Jack Coleman, Gordon Miller and A.J. Drummond.
