WEYERS CAVE — Barbara (Wright) Wampler, 96, of Rt. 1, died Thursday morning, (March 28, 1996) at her residence.

She was born Dec. 1, 1899 at Weyers Cave, a daughter of John S. and Mary (Miller) Wright. She lived the majority of her life in this area.

A graduate of Bridgewater High School and attended Madison Teacher's College, now James Madison University, she taught in several area elementary schools.

She was a member of Al-Anon and the Senior Citizens, group at Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Benjamin Wampler, who died Dec. 12, 1975.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen W. Wampler of Blacksburg and Edith W. Watson of Virginia Beach; a sister, Ethel Dennison of Troutville; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren by the Revs. Galen Brumbaugh and Glen Garner with burial in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 tonight at Lindsey Weyers Cave Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Foundation or to the Grottoes Rescue Squad.
