WEYERS CAVE – The funeral for Charles L. Wright, 81, of Route 1, Weyers Cave will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Summit Church of the Brethren.
The service will be conducted by the Revs. Donald Hubbell and Allen Pugh. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery at Bridgewater.
Mr. Wright died Sunday morning at King's Daughters' Hospital in Staunton. He had been ill for 11 days.
He was born March 6, 1906,, at Weyers Cave and was a son of the late John S. & Nancy Susan Miller Wright.
Mr. Wright was a retired farmer.
He lived in Rockingham for a number of years and in Staunton for 12 years before moving to Burketown community near Weyers Cave in 1962.
He was a member of Summit Church of the Brethren.
On Oct. 31, 1931, he married the former Ruth Cornelia Moyers, who died May 8, 1978.
Surviving are a son, Charles L. Wright Jr. of Verona; two daughters, Dorothy Coffman of Route 1, Weyers Cave and Joyce Staples of Sunshine, La.; three sisters, Vernie V. Wright of Bridgewater, Barbara Wampler of Weyers Cave and Ethel Dennison of Bedford; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Lindsey Weyers Cave Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today.
