Mr. Wright died Sunday morning at King's Daughters' Hospital in Staunton. He had been ill for 11 days.
He was born March 6, 1906,, at Weyers Cave and was a son of the late John S. & Nancy Susan Miller Wright.
Mr. Wright was a retired farmer.
He lived in Rockingham for a number of years and in Staunton for 12 years before moving to Burketown community near Weyers Cave in 1962.
He was a member of Summit Church of the Brethren.
On Oct. 31, 1931, he married the former Ruth Cornelia Moyers, who died May 8, 1978.
Surviving are a son, Charles L. Wright Jr. of Verona; two daughters, Dorothy Coffman of Route 1, Weyers Cave and Joyce Staples of Sunshine, La.; three sisters, Vernie V. Wright of Bridgewater, Barbara Wampler of Weyers Cave and Ethel Dennison of Bedford; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Lindsey Weyers Cave Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today.
