EUPHRASIA MILLER

Euphresia Miller, daughter of Andrew J. and Harriet Yerty, was born December 4, 1869, in McDonough County, Illinois. She passed away in the Baker Nursing Home in Chariton on July 29, 1956, at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 25 days.

On March 29, 1902, she was united in marriage to Samuel Miller of Harlan, Iowa. Three children were born to them: Mrs. Enid Wells of Knoxville, Miss Lucy Miller of Council Bluffs, and a son who died in infancy. Following the death of her husband in 1907, she moved to Russell, where she made her home until failing health made it necessary for her to live with her children.

Since young womanhood she has been a member of the Christian Church. She served her Lord faithfully in her church, in her home, and in her daily life. Her devotion to her family, her kindness to her friends, and her patience in suffering have endeared her to those whose privilege it was to know and to care for her.

In addition to her daughters, survivors include a step-son, Earl Miller of Norfolk, Nebraska; a son-in-law, V.S. Wells; one granddaughter, Mrs. Jo Ann Daniels, of Des Moines; two great-grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren. Three sisters, Mrs. Viola Hays, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Mrs. Lucy Elliot of St. Joseph, Missouri, Mrs. Rena Baughman of Russell; and a brother, W. E. Yerty of Mt. Clemens, Michigan also remain. Her parents, one brother and three sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held in the Woodman Funeral Home, Russell, Iowa at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. J. Hubert Dixon officiating. Interment was in the Russell Cemetery. Pallbearers, nephews of the deceased, were Charles Baughman, Cleo Baughman, Everett Adcock, David Wright, Charles Wright and Ronald Baughman.
