MRS. YERTY PASSES TO FINAL REWARD
Harriett Isabelle Morrow, youngest daughter of Andrew and Esther Morrow was born June 5th 1847 in Fulton County, Illinois and departed this life at the home of her daughter Mrs. Faye Miller in Russell, Iowa, on July 22, 1938 at the age of 91 years, one month and 17 days.
She was united in marriage to Andrew J. Yerty on January 4th, 1865 in Ipava, Illinois. They resided in Illinois for twelve years coming west overland in a covered wagon in the fall of 1877 and locating on a farm near the present site of LaGrange, Lucas County, Iowa and she has been a continuous resident of this county for 61 years.
To this union nine children were born. Her husband and four children preceded her in death.
She was united in the Christian church in Illinois in 1873 transferring her membership to LaGrange and later to Russell.
She was a loving wife and mother and a good neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand in time of sickness and trouble as long as she was able. She was ready and waiting for the Saviors call.
Funeral services were held at the Russell Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock P. M. conducted by Rev. W. H. Thompson. Interment was made in the LaGrange cemetery.
Those attending the funeral from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. John Wycoff of St. Joseph, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Ed Yerty and daughter Fern of Albia, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Adcock and 3 children of (unreadable), Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Baughman and daughter of Leon, Mr. and Mrs. Lou Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Mort Leavengood, Mrs. Grant Damon and Mrs. Ada Damon all of Melcher, Miss Lucy Miller of Iowa City, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Black and 2 children of Shannon City and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Pickeral of Chariton.
