A. F. Hanneman Dies Today
Pioneered in County in 1878

August Fredrick Hanneman, 79, died this morning in Community hospital after an illness of more than two months. Mr. Hanneman came to Lake county in 1878 with his parents and has lived here since that time. They made the trip in a covered wagon.

Mr. Hanneman was born Nov. 27, 1872, in Germany, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Hanneman. They came to the United States in 1873 and the family settled in Milwaukee. They moved to Decorah, Ia., in 1874 and came to Lake county in 1878.

He was married to Adena Budde Sept. 25, 1895 in Remsen, Ia. She died here last Sept. 29.

Surviving Mr. Hanneman are the following children: Mrs. Glen Downs, Mrs. Otto Schuld, Mrs. Armon Hoffman, Mrs. Walter Hoffman, 12 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two brothers, Fred and Henry Hanneman, both of Madison, and three sister: Mrs. Oscar Schultz, Wentworth; Mrs. Byron Farrell, Flandrean, and Mrs. Charles Budde, Madison.

Mr. Hanneman was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran church, Wentworth. The church is being rebuilt, so funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran church. A short service will be held earlier in the home at 637 Northeast Third street.

The body will lie in state in the Hallenbeck funeral home.

Burial will be made in Graceland cemetery.
