Mrs. A. Hanneman Dies Today After 3-Week Illness

Mrs. August Hanneman, 76, died in her home this morning after an illness of three weeks. She had been in poor health for about four years.

Mrs. Hanneman (Adena Budde) was born Feb. 27, 1873 in Benton county, Ia. In 1881, she moved to Remson, Ia. She was married there Sept. 25, 1895, to August Hanneman. They observed their fifty-fourth wedding anniversary Sunday.

The Hannemans moved to South Dakota after their marriage and lived in LeRoy township. They moved into Madison from the farm in 1940.

Surviving are her children: Mrs. Glen Downs (Clara), Mrs. Otto Schuld (Esther), Mrs. Armon Hoffman (Minnie), Mrs. Walter Hoffman (Gertrude) and Edwin Hanneman, all of Madison. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three brothers and sisters: Mrs. Adolph Stehr and Alfred Budde, Madison, and Fred Budde, Brookings.

Mrs. Hanneman was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran church, Wentworth. She also belonged to the Ladies Aid there.

Six grandsons who were chosen pallbearers are Melvin, Arthur and Roy Downs, Robert Schuld, Maynard Hanneman and Conrad Hoffman.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the home and 2:30 p.m. in St. Peter's church, Wentworth. Rev. E. E. Kahlberer will officiate at the service.

Burial will be made in Graceland cemetery with the Hallenbeck funeral home in charge of arrangements.
