In 1911 she married Silas Monroe Crocker, the brother of her sister Emma's Husband JC.
Silas was a preacher and started several churches in several states. Often, especially in later years, his income consisted of "free will" offerings from the congregations where he preached. He was pretty much an old style "Hell fire and brimstone" Bible Thumper.
Hattie was the glue that kept the brood of eight children, five survived to adulthood. She is remembered as a warm loving woman, a great cook and a hospitable Aunt.
Her children were, Irie,(died as infant) Leo,(died young) WR, Helen, Art, Tom (died as infant),Al and Billie.
She often was teaching the younger generations on how to do domestic tasks and decorum as well as other life skills.
