Mittie Smith Keene was the 3rd daughter of Thomas Franklin and Lula Martha Eldridge Smith. She had 9 siblings
Her Obituary says:
The funeral service for Mrs. Mittie Keene, 79, 403 N. 14th Ave., was held today at 4 p.m. from Memory Chapel with Rev. Medrick Savell officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Keene died Sunday in Yazoo City Nursing Home. She was a native of Neshoba County and was a retired weaver with Laurel Textile mills.
Survivors include her widower Roscoe Keene, Laurel; two sons, Darce Keene, Leland, and William Keene Yazoo City; one daughter, Mrs. Odessa Rayburn, Laurel; four brothers Tom Smith, Polock, LA., Oscar Smith, Jackson, Claude Smith, Ellisville, Barney Smith, Pioneer, La.; four sisters, Julia Kilpatrick, Jackson, Mrs. Emma Crocker and Mrs. Ruth Gandy both of Laurel, Mrs. Ophelia Horton, Yazoo City and 15 grand children.
Pall bearers were Robert Bynum, Wayne Guthrie, W.O. Harrelson, C.M. Chism, W.A. Dodd and Robert Evans.
Memory Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
