Wayne Cook passed away on August 6, 2012. He was born in Stephens County, Oklahoma to Maston Burl and Amanda Leona Chasteen Cook.

Wayne attended school in Duncan, Oklahoma before graduating from Sherman, Texas in 1955. He then attended North Texas University, Oklahoma University, St. Edwards University as well as Grayson County Junior College where he received an Associate's Degree in General Business.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Crisis. He managed an A&P grocery store in Wichita Falls Texas before going to work for IBM in Sherman and Austin, Texas where he worked as a Financial Analyst. He worked there for 25 years, retiring in 1992. He then worked several years for Airborn Custom Cables in Georgetown Texas, retiring in 2003.

Upon retirement, Wayne was active in golf, as a driver for Faith in Action Caregivers of Round Rock, playing canasta and shooting pool at the Baca Center in Round Rock, Texas, and where he served on the Site Council for four years. He attended church at First United Methodist Church and Journey in Faith Sunday School Class in Round Rock.

He was preceded in death by wife Beverly Ann Wilson Cook, and sisters, Aline McCaig, Loretta Smith and Delores Foster.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Betty Craven Cook, daughter Karen Wilkes and her husband Clay Wilkes, son Kevin Cook, one grandson, Nathan Wilkes & his wife Brittany Wilkes, and two granddaughters, Kimberly Wilkes and Sarah Cook, two brothers, Gerald Cook and James Cook and two sisters, Leona Baker and Eleanor Couch.

The family will be at the Beck Funeral Home, Round Rock, Texas for visitation on Saturday, August 11, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. tp 4:00 p.m.. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Rock Creek Cemetery (near Duncan OK), Stephens County Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
