Millie Creola Allen
Millie Creola (Bowen) Allen, 87, Campbellsville, Ky., mother of a Fairland woman, died Sunday at Taylor County Hospital, Campbellsville.
Born May 16, 1911, in Adair County, Ky., she was the daughter of David and Evelyn (Murrah) Bowen. She married Welby L. Allen, and he preceded her in death Nov. 3, 1985.
Mrs. Allen was a homemaker and a former Knightstown resident. She was a member of the Crossroads Church of God, Henry County, and the TOPS Club of Knightstown.
Survivors include five sons, Cecil T. Allen and Charles Allen, Indianapolis, Carlton Allen, Carthage, Wayne Allen, Evansville, and Joe Allen, New Castle; five daughters, Georgia Polston, Fairland, Veronica Gordon, Rushville, Ruth Brown, Speedway, Maxine Howard, Louisville, and Mary Mings, Campbellsville; two sisters, Mary E. Humphreys, Louisville, and Lois Mills, Campbellsville; 23 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Todd Funeral Home, Butcher Chapel, Knightstown.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Crossroads Church of God, with the Revs. Danny Douglas and Ken Kersten officiating.
Burial will be at Glen Cove Cemetery, Knightstown.
