Welby Lee Allen, 79, of 432 N. Washington St., Knightstown, IN, died Sunday morning, November 3, [1985] at Holly Hill Nursing Home in New Castle, IN. He was a native of Adair County. He was united in marriage to Creola (Bowen) Allen October 28, 1928. He is survived by his wife; 5 sons, Cecil T. and Charles, both of Indianapolis, Carlton of Carthage, IN, Wayne of Muncie, IN and Joseph (Joe) of New Castle; 5 daughters, Ruth Brown of Indianapolis, Maxine Howard of Louisville, Mary Mings of Campbellsville, Georgia Polston of Fairland, IN and Veronica Gordon of Rushville, IN; 23 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 5 at the Knightstown Church of God with Bro. Cleo Cox officiating. Burial was in Glen Cove Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tony Howard, Mark Howard, Eddie Goff, Kenny Polston, Jim Mings and Franklin D. Giles. Butcher Funeral Home in Knightstown was in charge of arrangements.
