Marie Cox, 83, of Gowdy Street, Campbellsville, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1998, in Campbellsville. Daughter of the late David J. Bowen and Eva Murrah Bowen, she was born in Adair County, Ky., on April 24, 1914, and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Cox was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. She was married to Malcolm Cox on April 16, 1938, who preceded her in death on April 10, 1980. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Brenda Cox of Rossville, Ga.; two granddaughters and and one grandson, Janet Woodcox and Charlotte Willis of Campbellsville and Eddy Cox of Louisville; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Lois Mills of Campbellsville, Mary Ella Humphress of Louisville, and Creola Allen of Newcastle, Ind. She was also preceded in death by one great-grandson, Wesley Aaron Kelsay on July 30, 1992. Funeral was at 4 p.m., Friday, Feb. 27 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. Ted Burke and the Rev. Richard Ramsey. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronnie Allen, E. Mac Hill, Maurice Mings, Coy Rainwater, David Willis and Tim Woodcox.
