Hans C. Peterson

Hans Christian Peterson, 67, educator and farmer, died at the residence of a daughter, Mrs. Fawn Anderson, 2924 Lincoln, at ten p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Peterson was born in Kanesville, May 15, 1878 a son of Peter B. and Ann Powell Peterson. He spent his early life in Weber county, where he was educated. He later received a B. A. degree from B.Y.U.
He completed an L.D.S. mission in the southern states, where he met his wife, Syrina E. Keddington, whom he married on Nov. 29, 1911, in the L.D.S. Salt Lake temple. Mrs. Peterson died 26 years ago in Salt Lake City. Mr. Peterson was a high priest in the L.D.S. Nineteenth ward, Weber stake, and had always been active in church work. He had been principal of the Davis high school. Syracuse, from 1912 to 1915. He also taught night classes at Weber college in naturalization citizenship, and had previously taught in Preston, Ida.: Liberty and Tooele.
He also engaged in farming and dairying and was formerly field manager of the Amalgamated Sugar Co., for a number of years.
Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Lieut., Daniel Peterson, Monroe field, La., now here on furlough; Mrs. Frank (Vera) Dawley, Raymond Canada; Mrs. Anderson, Ogden; Elva Peterson, Wells. Nev., and nine grandchildren; also two brothers and a sister, Thomas W. Peterson, Ogden; John D Peterson, Kanesville, and Mrs. Mary Ann Christensen, Rupert, Ida.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at three p.m. at the mortuary 2408 Washington, by Bishop Albert W. Barker of the L.D.S. Nineteenth ward. Burial will be in the Ogden city cemetery.
