PETERSON- Peter B. Peterson, a pioneer resident of Kanesville, died yesterday morning at the family residence in that settlement. Death was due to a lingering illness. following a stroke of paralysis which he suffered three years ago. The deceased was born on the Isle of Foster, Denmark, January 11, 1841, the son of Hans and Margaret Larson Peterson. He emigrated to Utah in 1859 as a Mormon convert, settling in Salt Lake City. Later he moved to Huntsville and lived there until 1874, when he became one of the first settlers of Kanesville, then a part of Hooper. He was married to Ann Powell at Salt Lake, in 1870. He was a member of the Wilson Canal company and had always been active in church and other organizations, the work of which was for the benefit of the community in which he lived. For a number of years, he was bishop of the Kanesville ward. Mr. Peterson was well known throughout the county and had many friends in Ogden. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Thomas W. Peterson, Kanesville: Peter P. Peterson, Moscow, Idaho; John D Peterson, Marriott; Hans C. Peterson, Ogden; Mrs. Margaret E. Green, Kanesville, Mary A. Peterson, Kanesville, Twenty-two grandchildren and a brother, Lars Peterson of Huntsville, also survive.
