John Peterson

KANESVILLE- John David Peterson, 77, LDS Church worker of Kanesville, died Saturday at his home after a short illness.
Mr. Peterson had operated farms in Marriot and Kanesville. As a young man he resided in Kanesville.
On Dec. 19, 1900, he married Emily Ritchie in the LDS Salt Lake Temple. The couple resided in Marriot 21 years, returning to Kanesville.
An active member of the LDS Church, he was a group leader of the High Priests Quorum at Kanesville at the time of his death. While in Marriot he was in the Sunday School superintendency, served as a ward clerk and for 13 years was a member of the bishopric.
In Kanesville he served several years as a member of the bishopric and was ward bishop for five years. He was a member of the stake high council for several years.
He was born April 22, 1876, in Kanesville, a son of Peter B. and Anna Powell Peterson.
Surviving are his widow, Kanesville; four sons and two daughters: Wallace L. and Theron R. Peterson and Mrs. Roland P. (Arvilla) Green, Kanesville: J. Victor and Milo P. Peterson, Roy, and Mrs. Lee (Florence) Boerens, Ogden; 23 grandchildren, five great-grandchoildren and one brother, Thomas W. Peterson, Ogden.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 1 p.m. in Lindquist and Sons Colonial Funeral Chapel, 3408 Washington Blvd., Bishop H. Lawrence Watkins of the LDS Kanesville Ward officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary tonight from 6 to 9 abd tomorrow prior to services. Burial will be in Ogden City cemetery.
