Vinton & Elizabeth moved to Wapello Co. Iowa in the mid 1840's with all the Hale family. After a few years the family moved to Knox Co. where Elizabeth had family. They settled just south of Herman. Vinton helped build the Methodist Church, & is buried in its cemetery.
