Elisa M. Sodke, 93, Wausau, died Thursday, July 30, 1998, at her daughter's home. She was born September 2, 1904 to Robert and Otilie (Zastrow) Gruling in Hamburg, WI. She was baptized into the Christian faith on September 18, 1904 and confirmed her faith in Jesus Christ on April 27, 1917. She married Walter Sodke on September 12, 1925 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hamburg, WI.
Survivors include a son, Donald (Gaye) Sodke, Lake Forest, Ill.; two daughters, LaVila (Milton) Imm, Wausau, and Luean (Delano) Auslund, Norhtfield, Minn.; five grandchildren: Johathan Sodke, Adair (Brian) Spencer, and Stepanie, all of Lake Forest, IL; Angela Auslund, Burnsville, MN, and Amanda (Ryan) Boe, Aberdeen SD; two brothers, Walter Gruling, Wausau, and Victor (Lee) Gruling, Montello; three sisters, Hattie Riemer, Hamburg, Olga Kriehn, Merrill, and Betty (Robert) Tierney, Wausau; and a sister-in-law, Elaine Gruling, Merrill. She was preceded in death by her Husband Walter Sodke, her parents Robert and Otilie (Zastrow) Gruling; her brothers; Theodore, Adolph, Franz, Carl, Wilfred, twins Waldemar and Frederick, and Gerhart; sisters: Anna Gruling, Esther Gruling, Viola Mohrland, Irma Kriewald, and Mary Ann Westfall.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be at Kraemer Funeral Home in Wausau.
