Mrs. Robert Gruling
Mrs. Robert Gruling, 87, died today September 4, 1973 at 2 a.m. at Sunny Vale Infirmary, Wausau, where she had resided. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. James Wiebel will officiate and burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Town of Hamburg. Friends may call at Helke West Chapel, Wausau, Wednesday after 3 p.m., and Thursday after 10:00 a.m. at the church.
The former Otillie Zastrow was born Jan. 18 1886, in the Town of Hamburg, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Zastrow. On December 18, 1903 in the Town of Hamburg, she was married to Robert Gruling who died Dec. 13, 1950. She was a member the Ladies Aid Societies of St. Mark's and St. Paul's churches.
Survivors include five sons, Theodore, North Prairie, Walter, Wausau, Gerhart and Robert, both of Merrill Route 4, Victor, Waukesha; six daughters, Mrs. Walter Sodke, 805 S. 12th Ave. and Mrs. Robert Tierney, 127 N. Fifth Ave., both of Wausau, Mrs. Ray Riemer, Hamburg Route 1, and Mrs. Viola Mohrland, 704 S. Genessee St. and Mrs. Ervin Kriehn, 304 Thomas St., both of Merrill, and Mrs. Lawrence Kriewald, Hartland; three brothers, Paul, Hamburg Route 1, John, 416 Spruce St., Wausau, Martin, Milwaukee; four sisters, Mrs. Carl Bartelt, 114 W. Knox St., Mrs. Gilbert Wassow and Martha Zastrow, both of 903 Spruce St., all of Wausau, Mrs. Gustav Paul, Hamburg Route 1, Mrs. Emma Hauso, Milwaukee; 43 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
