Migrated with the family to Lee's Summit, Missouri, in 1869. Hiram Waddell who was a grandson of Margaret (Giffen) Waddell who was a sister of John Giffen, Rosanna's father. Thus, Hiram's father and Rosanna were cousins. They had no children, but they cared for the three daughters of Rose's sister, Agnes who died at an early age. Their home for some years was in Missouri, but later at Burlingame, Kansas.
