She is descended on both sides of his family from two of the wealthiest and most prominent planters in Wake County. She was the paternal grandson of Urias Baucom & Elizabeth Lee of Wake; and gr-grandchild of John Baucom Jr. (1755-1840). On her mother's side, she was the grandchild of Nathaniel Green Rand & Pherabee Parker of Wake County. Both the Baucoms and Rands saw their wealth greatly diminished after the Civil War, but they were still prominent citizens in their communities and substantial landowners.
Eliza died in 1882. She was only 7 years old. Her marker is shared with an unnamed "infant" sibling who was born and died 1857.
