William Doverspike, 89, a lifelong resident of Sprankle Mills, died Thursday night in the Adrian Hospital after an illness of several weeks. He would have reached his 90th birthday on October 24. The deceased was born in Oliver Township on October 24, 1859, a son of Henry and Lydia Shaffer Doverspike. He was married July 4, 1879, to Rosetta Alice Smith.
He is survived by one son; Quay, of East Liverpool, 0., and four daughters, Mrs. H.0. Freas and Mrs. J.0. Raybuck, of this city, and Mrs. George Himes and. Miss Mary Doverspike, of Punxsutawney R.D. 5. Also surviving are 29 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Friends will be received in the Morrison Funeral Home until time for services at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Barton Chapel Church, of which the deceased was a member. The Rev. Alvin Rhodes will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
