Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in the St. Jacob's Church, near Grange,
for Daniel Doverspike,a well known local resident who died Monday morning,April 14, 1946 in the Adrian Hospital after an illness of six weeks, aged 84 years.
The deceased, who had lived the past three years with his daughter, Mrs. Bertha Lewis, of West Mahoning Street,
this city(Punxsutawney),was born January 29, 1862,
near Sprankle Mills,the son of
Henry and Lydia Shaffer Doverspike.
He was married on July 4, 1881 to Margaret Elizabeth Humble,deceased.
He followed lumbering and farming most of his adult life and retired several years ago because of his advanced age. He was a member of St. Jacob's Evangelical Church near Grange and was held in exceptional esteem in this area.
He leaves three daughters,Mrs. Bertha Lewis,of this city; Mrs. Minnie Smith,of Hamilton;
and Mrs. Esther Smith,of this city.
He also leaves one brother,William Doverspike,of near Sprankle Mills;
22 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the Morrison Funeral Home at which time the deceased will be removed to the
St. Jacob's Church where services will be held.
Rev. McElwain will officiate and burial will be in
the St. Jacobs Cemetery.
