Walter M. Stallbaumer, 92, Seneca, died Friday, February 2, 1996, at a Seneca, KS nursing home.

He was born April 20, 1903, southwest of St. Benedict, KS, the son of W.E. and Anna Engelken Stallbaumer.

He was a farmer and stockman, living northwest of St. Benedict until 1978, when he retired and moved to Seneca.

Mr. Stallbaumer was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Seneca, KS, and the St. Joseph Society at the church. He was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at St. Benedict. He served for several years on the election board at the Marion Township.

He was married to Theresa Fangman on August 9, 1928, at St. Benedict, KS. She died February 3, 1989.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, sons, James E. Stallbaumer on August 9, 1991; Clarence Stallbaumer, August 5, 1945; daughter, Theresa Marie Stallbaumer, January 31, 1943; and granddaughter, Marilyn Deters, July 1, 1973.

He is survived by sons, Patrick Stallbaumer, Topeka, KS; Edward Stallbaumer, Topeka, KS; Kenneth Stallbaumer, Oconto, NE; daughters, Edith Deters, Centralia, KS; Blanche Haug, Abilene, KS; Joan Steinlage, Goff, KS; Anna Marie Hiestand, Fargo, ND; brother, Paul Stallbaumer, Seneca, KS; sisters, Edna Sack, Seneca, KS; Alma Sack, Denver, CO; Mary Ann Huninghake, Seneca, KS; 44 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, St. Benedict, KS.
