William Edward Stallbaumer
March 12, 1874- April 13, 1927

William Edward Stallbaumer was born to Martin and Mary Hubertina Stallbaumer on March 12, 1874 on a farm near Seneca, Kansas. He lived on a farm near St. Benedict until he died.

Edward died on Wednesday, April 13, 1927, at St. Anthony's hospital in Sabetha, Kansas, of ulcers of the stomach at age of 53. His mother, Mary Stallbaumer, passed away three months before him, and his youngest child, Doris, was born just two days before he died.

As a member of a pioneer family of Nemaha county, Edward Stallbaumer had witnessed the progress of St. Mary's Church and the community.

Edward was married on August 28, 1900 at St. Mary's Church to Anna Engelken in a double wedding with George Stallbaumer and Elizabeth Engelken. The grooms were brothers and the brides were sisters.

Edward was engaged in farming all of his life and lived two miles East of Seneca, one mile North and 3/4 mile West for the last seven years of his life. They bought his farm from Joe Koch and had on acre of grape vines from which they sold grapes and wine.

He is survived by his wife and fourteen children, Mrs. Irene Fangman, Walter Stallbaumer, Florence Stallbaumer, Melvin Stallbaumer, Sylvester Stallbaumer, Victor Stallbaumer, Marcella Stallbaumer, Paul Stallbaumer, Herman Stallbaumer, Norbert Stallbaumer, Eugene Stallbaumer, Edna Stallbaumer, Alma Stallbaumer, Mary Ann Stallbaumer and Doris Stallbaumer; two grandchildren; brothers, John Stallbaumer, Kelly, KS; George Stallbaumer, Seneca, KS; sisters, Mrs. Albertina Welp, Portland, OR; and Mrs. Ida Carlin, Wheaton, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Henry Stallbaumer; sisters, Mrs. Rose Carpenter and Mrs. Louise Rettele.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Benedict, KS. A nephew, Rev. Virgil Stallbaumer, Atchison, KS, read the requiem mass. Burial was in the Church Cemetery.
