Herman L. Stallbaumer, 67, died May 24, 1983, at a nursing home in Seneca, KS. He had cancer.

He was born on a farm south west of St. Benedict, KS, on June 16, 1916, the son of Edward and Anna Engelken Stallbaumer.

He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in Europe. He was a farmer and stockman for 32 years in the Centralia, KS area. He moved to Seneca in 1978.

He was married to Margaret M. Nordhus on April 26, 1944, in Seneca, KS. She survives.

He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the St. Joseph Society of the church, in Seneca. He was a member of the American Legion Post No 21; the Seneca Memorial Post No 7458 Veteran's of Foreign Wars; and the Knights of Columbus No 1769 in Seneca.

Besides his wife, Margaret, he is survived by sons Galen Stallbaumer, Topeka, KS; Sgt. Lynn Stallbaumer, Jacksonville, N.C.; Kirby Stallbaumer, Seneca; daughters, Jo Ann McKinney,Parker Heights, TX; Elaine Chase, Beattie, KS; and four granddaughters.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial was in the church cemetery.
