Mrs Mary R Turner, wife of Charles K Turner of Longmount, died at the family home, 528 Baker Street, at 5:22 am today (October 22, 1955) after several years of illness. Her condition has been serious the past month. Mrs Turner was 83.
Born in Warren County, Iowa, June 13, 1872, then Mary Rosella Townsend, she was married to Mr Turner at Kellerton, Iowa, October 14, 1897. They lived 20 years in Salina, Kansas, where Mr Turner was engaged in the produce business. They came to Longmont 10 years ago from Salina.
Mrs Turner was a faithfil member of the First Christian Church and belonged to several organizations within the Church. She and Mr Turner observed their fifty-eight wedding anniversary last week.
Surviving relatives, in addition to her husband, are one son, Dewey N Turner of Denver; two brothers, Henry Townsend of Lebanon, Oregon, and Frank Raymond Townsend of Clarksville, Arkansas; two sisters, Mrs Dora Spitznogle of Augusta, Kansas and Mrs Abigail Shanks of Madison, Kansas; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2pm from First Christian Church, Rev Talmage Pace officiating. Interment will be Mountain View Cemetery.
