Ethel Sue McWhorter

Mrs. Ethel Sue McWhorter, 66, Decatur, died Thursday at 10 p.m. at the residence following a long illness.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Austinville Church of Christ with Winford Clark, Tommy Vernon and Kyle McWhorter conducting.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Guntharp Brown Service Funeral Home directing.

he body will be taken back to the residence today and will remain there until Saturday at 1 p.m. at which time it will be taken to the church to lie in state for one hour.

Survivors include the husband, R.C. McWhorter, Decatur; two sons, Kenneth and Jewel McWhorter, Decatur; two daughters, Mrs. Carl S. Royer, Decatur and Mrs. F.E. Napps, Jr, Sheffield; the mother, Mrs. Mary Sockwell, Tuscumbia; three sisters, Mrs. Davis B. McBride, Muscle Shoals; Mrs. J.W. Myhan, Tuscumbia; Mrs. Greer Callough, Pittsburgh, Penn; two brothers, Howard Sockwell, Akron, Ohio; William Sockwell, Chattanooga, Tenn; and six grandchildren.

Active pallbearers will be Henry McWhorter, Douglas Fudge, J.C. Corum, E.A. Taylor, Roy Childers and Joe Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be J.C. Presnell, Kyle Martin, W.B. McMeans, H.M. Turner, Avery Roberts Sr, H.R. Leeman, S.M. Dollar, S.O. Maner and Dr. John Bragg.
